The
singer
was
given
the
chance
to
sing
the
national
anthem
at
the
opening
ceremony
of
the
Super
Bowl,
the
championship
game
of
the
National
Football
League.
However,
she
socked
many
by
repeating
a
line
of
the
anthem.
She
repeated
the
line
“What
so
proudly
we
watched
at
the
twilight's
last
gleaming" instead
of
the
line
“O'er
the
ramparts
we
watched,
were
so
gallantly
streaming?"
Now,
Christina
has
offered
her
apology
for
the
mistake.
“I
got
so
caught
up
in
the
moment
of
the
song
that
I
lost
my
place.
I
can
only
hope
that
everyone
could
feel
my
love
for
this
country
and
that
the
true
spirit
of
its
anthem
still
came
through," Contactmusic
quoted
the
singer
as
saying.
