Jessica Simpson handpicked to sing for US troops

Singer Jessica Simpson feels honoured because she has been handpicked by Michelle Obama, wife of President Barack Obama, to perform for the US troops and their families. The US First Lady has asked her to perform at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, on April 13.

“The First Lady asked me to sing for the troops. That's a huge honour for me. Just to be there and show my support and say thank you," UsMagazine.com quoted the singer as saying. She along with Michelle and Dr. Jill Biden will travel to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, San Antonio, Texas, Denver and Columbus, Ohio to highlight the work of Americans who have answered the call to serve our military families and bring home the message that every American can serve them.

It may be recalled that Jessica Simpson had performed for sailors on board the USS Harry S. Truman last year.
