Katy Perry set to equal Michael Jackson's record

By Raymond Ronamai

Singer Katy Perry is on the verge of equalling the record held by King of Pop Michael Jackson for over two decades. She will have five No.1s from the same album if her latest single “Last Friday Night" (TGIF) reaches the top of the chart in the US. The last person to achieve the feat was Michael Jackson with his album Bad in 1987.

Katy Perry's latest collection Teenage Dream has four songs hitting the No.1 spot with “California Gurls", “Firework", “E.T". and the title track. Her other single “Last Friday Night", which is currently in the fourth position, is likely to climb the charts in the weeks to come. She will be the first female artiste to reach such a feat in the 52-year history of The Billboard Hot 100 if her latest single reaches the top spot.
