Katy Perry Adele top 2011 MTV VMAs winners list

Finally, the much-awaited winners list of 2011 MTV Video Music Awards were out on Sunday and singers Katy Perry and Adele have topped the list. 'I Kissed a Girl' star's 'Firework' has won the Video of the Year. She walked away with a total of three prizes, while Adele bagged four important awards at the event.

Katy Perry has beaten the likes of Adele, Beastie Boys, Bruno Mars and Best New Artist winner Tyler, the Creator in the category of the Video of the Year. Meanwhile, she also bagged the Best Collaboration and Best Special Effects in a Video for her 'E.T.' in which she has worked with rapper Kanye West.

Singer Adele has pocketed four coveted awards like Best Art Direction, Editing, Cinematography and Direction for her 'Rolling in the Deep' video. Lady Gaga won two honours like Best Female Video and Best Video with a Message for 'Born This Way, while Justin Bieber got Best Male Video award for 'U Smile'.

Beyonce Knowles, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj and Foo Fighters had to be contented with one award each. However, The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards featured live performances by Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Beyonce and GaGa. The winners were announced by such presenters as Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Taylor Lautner, Chord Overstreet and Jared Leto.
