Scotty McCreery dating Lauren Alaina?

News is spreading like wildfire that this year"s American Idol winner Scotty McCreery is in a romantic relationship with runner-up Lauren Alaina, but Scotty insisted that they are just good friends.

The 17-year-old American Idol winner denied that he is dating Alaina. He said that they share a 'brother and sister" relationship. “We've been getting that question all morning. Me and her - it's a brother-and-sister relationship. We are really close friends. I met her on day one of Hollywood Week," People magazine quoted the singer as saying.

Rumours started doing the rounds that the duo was dating after Alaina kissed Scotty when he was announced the winner of American Idol, stunning millions of television viewers. Scotty said that he knew she would kiss him. “She told me before the show she was going to [kiss me]. It was kind of like a joke. She's a character," he added.
