Shakira to help rebuild Haiti school

By Raymond Ronamai

Columbian singer Shakira has a heart of gold. She is donating $400,000 to rebuild a school that was damaged by earthquake last year. Her Barefoot Foundation with the Architecture for Humanity charity will renovate the Elie Dubois school in Port-au-Prince.

Shakira visited Haiti on March 28 and announced that a deal has been struck with the Inter-American Development Bank to help build the school. She even visited the damaged school, interacted with the students, sang and danced with them. “I'm convinced the key to achieve a dignified future for the Haitian people is through education. I'd like to say to the girls that this is an enormous opportunity that life is offering you - education. So make the most of it because I'm sure you can achieve any of your dreams," Contactmusic reported.

Well, celebrities should learn a lesson or two from “Waka Waka" singer!
