Shania Twain's stalker gets jail sentence

By Raymond Ronamai

Canadian singer Shania Twain must be heaving a huge sigh of relief as her stalker has been finally sent behind the bars. The stalker was sent to jail yesterday (March 28) after breaching a court order. He tried to approach the singer at the Juno Awards in Canada on March 27.

Dr. Giovanni Palumbo, 50, was arrested after a relative of the singer spotted him in the crowd at the Juno Awards function where Shania received a place in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. “One of her people had spotted him. He said he just wanted to meet her," Contactmusic quoted Detective Michael Jander as saying.

The court had earlier prohibitaed the stalker from going within 500 yards of the singer for sending her flowers and letters. This time, the court sent him to jail, warning him not to make any contact with the singer. He would be in jail until April 1st, when his bail plea would be heard.
