Sophie Monk opens up on ending her engagement

Singer Sophie Monk, who announced her split during an interview with Chelsea Handler, has broken her silence and spoken about ending her engagement with Jimmy Esebag after three months whirlwind romance. Now, she has revealed the rational behind her decision to end the romance.

Sophie Monk was recently on the Australian radio programme the Kyle & Jackie O Show. She is feeling left behind when she sees her friends and relatives getting married and starting families. She said, "I went too hard, too fast, we both did... I don't want to talk too much because I feel bad, he (Jimmy Esebag) doesn't have the microphone."

The Australian pop singer added, "I sound like I'm in high school, I've been doing that since I was in about grade three. I just got carried away, I don't know, it's not reality (in) L.A. (Los Angeles)... and you get a bit excited. I look at my sisters, and I look at you Jackie with your baby... that's pretty much what I should be doing right now."

However, Sophie Monk was engaged to Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in 2006, but she was split from him in January 2008. The 31-year-old announced on January 11, she was set to marry French-born billionaire Jimmy Esebag, but the romance came to an abrupt end earlier this month Mar 11.
