By Ians English

New Delhi: Former Australian pacer Brett Lee launched a signature t-shirt for his Foundation, Mewsic, to mark the occasion of World Music Day, which will be celebrated Friday. Available online, the t-shirt has cricketer's personal signature and the Mewsic Foundation mascot, a guitar playing cat called Binga, and is a collector's item. The proceeds from the sale of the t-shirt will go to support Mewsic programmes.

"June 21st has been celebrated across many countries as World Music Day since 1982. Given my passion for music and the focus of my foundation, I felt we should do something to mark the day, celebrate music and generate awareness for our work," Lee said in a statement.

Brett Lee is a passionate music lover. On the official website of Mewsic, he writes, "Whilst most people know me as a cricketer, there is another side to 'Brett Lee' that is lesser known. I am passionate about music - perhaps even more so than cricket! Actually, if you took cricket out of my life, I'd be sad. But if you took music out of my life, I'd be devastated!" (IANS)
