'You don't need alcohol and drugs to have fun' says Singer Ozzy Osbourne. Following the death of actor Cory Monteith, Osbourne warned youngsters against drugs. Monteith died because of an overdose of a mix of heroin and alcohol and was found in his hotel room in Vancouver on July 13. Osbourne spoke about his life so that young people don't make the same mistakes.

Ozzy Osbourne too battled addictions for years. The 64-year-old singer said that just because he survived it, people shouldn't assume that they can live the same way. "I went through all that and I survived. But I haven't got that many friends who I used to do it with. They're all dead... I'm living on borrowed time. Don't think that if Ozzy Osbourne can stay alive through it, then even you can. It doesn't work like that," he admitted.

The singer explained that he used to think drugs and alcohol boosted his creativity but later realised it was not true. "I used to think that I couldn't write songs or perform without a drug or drink inside me and that's just a load of c**p," Ozzy said.

"You don't need alcohol and you don't need drugs to make music and have fun. In recent months I had another go at it and it nearly destroyed me again," he added.
