Amruta Khanvilkar Rings In The New Year With Her First-ever Action Web Series Taskaree On Netflix

Amruta Khanvilkar is kicking off the new year on a high note as the impactful trailer of her much-anticipated web series Taskaree has officially been unveiled. Set to stream on Netflix from 14th January, the gripping action thriller stars Emraan Hashmi and is helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Pandey.

Amruta shares that the journey of Taskaree itself began on an equally memorable note. "2025 started with a bang for me because I began shooting for Taskaree in January last year, and it turned out to be such an incredible experience. Interestingly, I didn't have to audition for my role. Thanks to casting director Vicky Sadanah, I met Neeraj sir and performed a single scene-he loved it, and that was it," she revealed.

The versatile actress further spoke about the scale and uniqueness of the shoot, adding that the team filmed at locations rarely accessible to the public. Taskaree also marks an important milestone in her career as her first-ever action web series.

"I've performed a lot of action sequences in the show. My character, Mitali, is a total badass and one of the core members of the customs team. I truly enjoyed stepping into her shoes and exploring this side of myself," she said.

Working under the direction of Neeraj Pandey proved to be a learning experience for Amruta. "The way Neeraj sir envisions and executes a scene is phenomenal. Every moment on his set is fast-paced and dynamic. Actors are constantly alert, wondering what's coming next. It almost feels like doing theatre-long takes, multiple movements, and so many people sharing the frame. He is exceptional at handling large crowds," Amruta shared.

Adding to the excitement is Amruta's first-ever association with Netflix. "It makes me immensely happy. The platform and the makers are fantastic, and starting the year with this project feels truly special. I always wanted to work with Netflix, and to do so under Neeraj Pandey's direction is like sone pe suhaga. Shooting at Mumbai airport and witnessing the entire ecosystem function in real time was an experience in itself-it was simply amazing," she concluded.

Apart from Taskaree streaming on Netflix from 14th January, Amruta will also be seen in Disney+ Hotstar's next, Space Gen -Chandrayaan streaming from 23rd January.
