Berlin Season 1 Recap & Spoilers: After the massive success of its first season, the Spanish thriller Berlin is all set to return with Season 2, and the countdown to its premiere has already begun. The show has once again become a major talking point, with fans eagerly waiting to see what unfolds next.

A spin-off to the hugey popular Money Heist, Berlin 2 aka Berlin And The Lady With An Ermine (Spanish: Berlín y la dama del armiño) features Pedro Alonso in the lead role. With the new season scheduled to release on May 15 on Netflix, excitement is clearly at its peak. Before the story continues, here's a quick look back at the key moments and twists from Season 1.

BERLIN (MONEY HEIST SPIN-OFF) SEASON 1 RECAP AND SPOILERS

Netflix expanded the world of Money Heist by bringing back one of its most loved characters, Berlin, as the central figure of a new story. Set before the events of the original series, I focuses on a high-stakes robbery led by Berlin (Pedro Alonso). Instead of telling his origin, the series dives straight into a carefully planned heist, where Berlin and his trusted team attempt to steal €44 million worth of jewellery from a grand auction house in Paris.

The plan begins smoothly, with the gang successfully pulling off the robbery and collecting some of the most valuable pieces. To avoid suspicion, they cleverly plant evidence at François Polignac's house, leading to his arrest as the main suspect. While the police begin their investigation, the team quietly checks out of their hotel and escapes in different groups using disguises.

Bruce and Keila leave first as backpackers, while Roi, Cameron, and Damian pose as a family travelling in a trailer. Berlin, however, stays back in Paris, getting close to François' wife Camille and even offering to help her husband legally, hoping to win her trust.

HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED IN BERLIN SEASON 1 CLIMAX

Things start to fall apart when small mistakes bring the police closer. A forgotten necklace inside a stolen car puts Roi and Cameron on Detective Lavelle's radar. Although they manage to escape once, their location is later traced to a campsite. In a tense chase, they flee through underground sewers and hide on a fruit truck to avoid capture.

At the same time, Bruce and Keila face their own crisis when she is bitten by a snake. To save her, Bruce risks everything by taking her to a hospital and holding police officers hostage. After her recovery, they manage a daring escape by sinking a police car and fleeing by boat.

As the investigation intensifies, French authorities even seek help from Alicia Sierra and Raquel Murillo, known for handling major heists in Money Heist. Despite finding a few leads, the police fail to catch the gang. In the final moments, Berlin and Damian escape Paris disguised as hotel staff and reunite with the rest of the team in Spain.

However, the story ends on a strong cliffhanger. Camille eventually discovers Berlin's true identity but chooses not to expose him. Months later, she tracks him down in Argentina and demands a share of the stolen money. Berlin agrees, handing over €3 million upfront. With his share gone and future uncertain, the ending hints that another heist could be on the way.
