Pankaj Tripathi is known for his effortless yet deeply layered performances, and his process is anything but casual. To portray a character with authenticity, he dives far beyond the script, engaging in detailed research, real-life interactions, and emotional immersion. For his role in Criminal Justice: A Family Matter on JioHotstar, Pankaj Tripathi once again showcased his commitment by stepping into the real world of lawyers and courtrooms. From consulting with Supreme Court advocates to observing proceedings at the Bombay High Court, he absorbed the nuances of legal practice to bring Madhav Mishra to life with striking realism. It's this relentless pursuit of truth in performance that has made him not just a celebrated actor but the very soul of the Criminal Justice franchise.
Talking about the same, Pankaj Tripathi said, " _I met a lawyer in Mumbai and had a conversation with him. I even spoke to two people from the Supreme Court and met others from the Bombay High Court, just to understand the nuances. There's a slight difference between a real court and a film court, but we've tried our best not to make it look cinematic. There are many scenes where the judge pauses in the middle and says, 'You both come and meet me.' In the background, you'll see the person in the cabin, the judge, and the lawyers sitting and talking, trying to figure out where the proceedings are going, what's happening. This usually happens in real life but is rarely shown in films. So we've tried to make it as realistic as it actually is."
