Industry chatter suggests Netflix may mount a special campaign around the Dhurandhar OTT release date, Netflix rollout and promotions, with an internal plan to premiere the title in the final week of January 2026. The service has not issued a detailed schedule yet, but insiders expect the online launch to follow soon after the movie’s theatrical earnings begin to slow.

A source from the film industry shared details of the digital sale with Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit. The person said, "Netflix has paid a whopping amount for the exclusive OTT rights of Dhurandhar. The OTT platform is expected to announce the OTT release date of the film in the upcoming days." The comment underlined Netflix's confidence in the title's streaming potential.

Dhurandhar will enjoy a theatrical-to-digital gap of about eight weeks, from the December 5, 2025 cinema opening to the January 30, 2026 Netflix launch. The timing becomes more strategic because the follow-up, Dhurandhar 2, already has a confirmed date. The sequel is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.

Trade analysts had initially predicted an opening in the Rs 18 crore to Rs 20 crore range within India. However, box office portal Sacnilk reported that Dhurandhar started far stronger, securing Rs 28 crore on its first day. The action thriller soon turned into the top Indian performer of the year, with earnings outpacing expectations from early forecasts.

Collections stayed high beyond the first weekend, as word-of-mouth drew repeat audiences. Dhurandhar crossed Rs over Rs 800 crore in India, signalling sustained interest well after release. Worldwide, the film amassed more than Rs 1200 crore (gross), which placed it as the highest-grossing Indian title of 2025 and pushed it ahead of Chhaava, Kantara 2 (Kantara: Chapter 1) and Saiyaara.
