Godaan Kumar In Dupahiya: Godaan Kumar, known for his diverse roles in films like Dhadak and Marjaavaan, is currently winning hearts with his portrayal of Durlabh in the series Dupahiya. His character, Durlabh, stands out for representing a unique section of society-those individuals who truly value relationships without selfish motives. Durlabh's innocence, though admirable, often makes him the subject of laughter. However, as Kumar explains, satire and humor are integral to the presentation of his character.

"Characters like Durlabh never really reach a conclusion; they're always left in confusion, wondering why things happen to them," Kumar shares, reflecting on Durlabh's journey throughout the series. According to the actor, Durlabh's focus on others over himself is a key aspect of his personality, which contributes to his perpetual state of confusion.

Balancing innocence with subtle cunning was a challenge for Kumar, especially after playing darker roles in past projects. Yet, he asserts that even Durlabh's clever moments are underscored by his innocence. "He doesn't understand the cleverness of society, so even in his cunningness, there's an underlying simplicity," Kumar says. Maintaining this balance was a central focus in his performance, ensuring that Durlabh's actions evoked sympathy rather than malice.

When it comes to working with seasoned actors like Gajraj Rao and Renuka Shahane, Kumar expressed immense gratitude. "Working with Gajraj sir was a great learning experience-his humility makes it easier for younger actors like us. Renuka ma'am never made me feel like I was working with a legend," he reveals. Kumar also credits director Sonam Nair for creating a joyful atmosphere on set, allowing room for improvisation. One such improvised moment occurred in the series' final episode, where Durlabh, in a drunken state, delivers an emotional address to the other characters.

Kumar recalls the most difficult scene to shoot-when Durlabh provokes his younger brother, Kuber, about getting the prized dupahiya (two-wheeler). In this moment, Durlabh had to appear clever while retaining his inherent innocence. The scene culminated in a critical smile, signifying Durlabh's belief that he had succeeded in his plan, which was an important character moment.

The actor reflects on the gray nature of all characters in Dupahiya, emphasizing that while everyone else hides something, Durlabh is transparent. "What you see is what you get with Durlabh, and that's his unique trait," says Kumar.
