Here are excerpts from the interview-

1) What dietary changes did you make for Pulkit Samrat's transformation in Glory so he could achieve a boxer-like physique?

Pulkit's transformation was not based on "extreme dieting," but on building a body that was lean, toned, explosive, quick to recover, and sustainable in the long run. In Ayurveda, the focus is not just on reducing body fat, but on improving metabolism and strengthening tissue quality so that immunity also remains strong.

To build a boxer-like physique, the primary focus was on high-quality protein, anti-inflammatory foods, proper fiber intake, and healthy fats. At the same time, we aimed to keep the body light while maintaining muscle recovery, increasing hydration, and reducing sluggishness. That's why all of Pulkit's meals were designed around these principles.

For balanced nutrition, instead of depending heavily on non-vegetarian sources, we included easily digestible carbohydrates like ragi and jowar, along with organic ghee, fiber sources, and seeds. Along with food, our entire focus was on his digestive system, sleep quality, and post-training recovery, because the body is not built only in the gym - it is built during recovery as well.

2) What completely had to be removed from Pulkit's diet for this role?

The biggest transformation was not in the quantity of food, but in food quality and timing. Especially for an athletic body, sugar, alcohol, late-night eating, fried and inflammatory foods, excessive dairy combinations, and irregular snacking had to be eliminated because, from an Ayurvedic perspective, these habits create heaviness, bloating, poor digestion, and sluggishness in the body.

That is why discipline became the real challenge for Pulkit. During shoots, maintaining proper meal timings and sleep schedules is often difficult, and that can ruin all the hard work. Instead of crash dieting, we made significant use of makhana and bisi roti in his meal plan.

3) During intense boxing and high-cardio training, how did you ensure Pulkit didn't lose muscle mass?

This is extremely important because many people become lean but end up losing strength and recovery quality. In Ayurveda, muscle tissue is associated with Mamsa Dhatu, and maintaining it requires proper nourishment, proper digestion, and adequate rest.

For Pulkit's boxer physique, we used a special Ayurvedic therapy involving oil gut enemas, which help restore strength, support bones, joints, and muscles, and also bring the body into a deeply relaxed parasympathetic state.

Our strategy was focused on improving digestion so protein absorption could happen effectively, supporting recovery through sleep and nervous-system balance, and reducing overtraining stress through breathwork. High-intensity boxing can increase stress levels in the body, so we paid special attention to hydration, anti-inflammatory support, and post-training recovery.

4) From an Ayurvedic perspective, what lifestyle changes did Pulkit Samrat have to adopt for Glory?

Ayurveda views transformation not just as a workout process, but as a 24-hour lifestyle practice. Pulkit had to adopt several lifestyle changes, including disciplined sleep timing, fixed meal timing, structured recovery, stress management, and maintaining digestive balance despite intense training.

In physically demanding roles, nervous-system recovery becomes extremely important. That is why, along with workouts, special attention was given to Pulkit's sleep, breathing practices, recovery therapies, and overall body-mind balance.

According to Ayurveda, sustainable fitness comes from a calm nervous system and a strong metabolism. We also incorporated a therapy called Liver Cleanse, where every 42 days a controlled medicated vomiting therapy was performed to cleanse the stomach lining, improve liver function, and maintain the gut-brain axis.

5) According to Ayurvedic principles, what changes did you make regarding Pulkit's eating habits, meal timing, food combinations, and food types?

In Ayurveda, great importance is given to when you eat, how strong your digestion is, and how disciplined your routine is. That is why the first step was organizing his eating habits properly - eating meals on time, keeping meals light, and completely avoiding random snacking.

We also tailored meals according to training demands and recovery state. This helps avoid digestive heaviness and keeps the body feeling energetic.

Meal timing was extremely important because metabolism, hormones, and recovery all follow the body's circadian rhythm.

6) If others also want to maintain a physique like Pulkit's for the long term, what Ayurvedic practices should they follow daily?

The most important thing is sustainability. Temporary transformations are easy, but maintaining both health and physique together is the real achievement.

Ayurveda focuses on long-term practices rather than short-term fixes. These include maintaining digestive health, eating according to seasonal changes and the body's needs, keeping sleep and wake timings regular, understanding the body's fatigue levels and avoiding overtraining, practicing seasonal detox therapies like Dhauti and Basti, reducing stress through breathwork, and following a balanced diet instead of restrictive dieting.

Most importantly, one must learn to listen to the body and respect recovery, because longevity in fitness comes not from force, but from better recovery. And that is exactly where Ayurveda becomes highly relevant for modern performance and transformation.
