House Arrest: Controversial Contestant Defends Ajaz Khan For His 'Obscene' Act As Ullu Removes All Episodes
House Arrest Controversy: Ullu app's reality show House Arrest has stirred controversy owing to its objectionable and explicit content. As clips from the show went viral on social media, netizens pointed out that the host 'insulted the modesty of women' through his 'obscene act'.
Ajaz Khan has faced the wrath for asking a female contestant to 'demonstrate s*x position' in the show. The Bigg Boss contestant received flak from all corners for 'exerting pressure' on the contestants to act out an 'intimate situation' in House Arrest.
Instagram and X users pointed out that Ajaz Khan made the contestants uncomfortable by asking them 'vulgar questions'. Khan received a bolt from the blue as NCW issued a notice to him. An FIR was also registered against him.
WHY ULLU APP REMOVED HOUSE ARREST EPISODES?
An industry source, shedding light on the matter, exclusively informed Filmibeat, "The latest controversy surrounding the nature of the content in House Arrest has set several tongues wagging. NCW has issued a notice to Ullu app CEO Vibhu Agarwal and host Ajaz Khan, which can lead to serious action against the duo. The streaming platform, known for its bold nature, has refrained from premiering the new episodes of House Arrest after the summon was issued. Ullu app executives have also pulled the show from their platform. House Arrest is no longer available on Ullu."
"House Arrest could have proved to be a successful affair like Bigg Boss but it opted for a 'bold' path to generate viewership. The show would have worked even without the sleezy nature and gimmick. When the first promo was released, fans compared House Arrest to Bigg Boss. However, the show didn't turn out to be. While it managed to grab eyeballs, the makers might have to pay a price. The streaming platform has even removed all the promotional posters and posts of House Arrest from its Instagram handle. This says it all," the khabri added.
There were rumours that the show would re-release again after the controversy dies down. However, there's no truth to the rumours.
The source strictly maintained, "There's no way Ullu app will take a risk after NCW's action against them. From politicians to commoners, there has been a demand to take stringent action against the platform over the content of House Arrest. While the old episodes have been pulled down, the show would face the axe, and the new episodes won't premiere in the upcoming days or weeks."
Amid the hullabaloo over the show, Gehna Vashist defended Ajaz Khan, saying the show gave a platform to the contestants.
