Indian Films Dominate Netflix’s Global Charts, Claim Top 3 Spots In Standout Week
Indian films across Hindi and Tamil are having a standout week on Netflix, claiming the top three spots on the Global Top 10 Films (Non-English) chart. Made In Korea (Tamil), Border 2 (Hindi) and Dhurandhar (Hindi) are ranked No. 1, 2 and 3 respectively, while With Love (Tamil) grabbed seventh spot in the top 10. Together, this marks one of the strongest single-week global performances for Indian films on Netflix.

This moment is a strong reflection of how Indian stories are increasingly and rapidly finding audiences around the world. Holding the top three positions points to growing and sustained interest in Indian films globally. A big part of that is how quickly films now travel. With simultaneous releases across countries and languages, films are being discovered earlier, watched more widely and building momentum beyond their home market within days.
This momentum has been building steadily over time. From large-scale theatrical spectacles to rooted original stories, Indian cinema across genres and languages is consistently finding fandom on Netflix, regardless of scale or box office run. Films like Haq, Saiyaara, Jolly LLB and Baramulla have seen multi-week runs on the Global Top 10, while the Hindi crime-comedy, Inspector Zende and Idli Kadai (Tamil) trended across more than 15 countries. In a standout milestone, Accused, starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta, became the first Indian film to reach audiences in 72 countries in its launch week, drawing strong viewership and appreciation from around the world. Meanwhile Vash Level 2, a Gujarati-language supernatural horror, emerged as a breakout success trending in the Top 10 of 8 countries, reinforcing how multilingual Indian stories are resonating powerfully across borders.

This milestone is part of a much larger and sustained shift. Since July 2021, the number of Indian titles across films and series featuring in Netflix's Global Top 10 has grown nearly 6x, signalling the growing scale and consistency of Indian stories on the world stage. At least one Indian film or series has appeared in the Global Top 10 every week since 2024.
This reflects a broader shift in global viewing habits. With over 70% of Netflix viewing happening via subtitles or dubbing, accessibility is playing a key role in discovery, helping Indian films across languages and genres connect with newer and wider audiences around the world. Together, these trends point to a growing global appetite for Indian storytelling and momentum that continues to build.
