Interrogation: Piyush Dinesh Gupta’s Power Move Launches Manu Singh As Indian Cinema’s Next Big Revelation

Interrogation Piyush Dinesh Gupta s Power Move Launches

In a film industry often saturated with formulaic stories and star power, one name is quietly rewriting the rules: Piyush Dinesh Gupta. With Interrogation, Piyush isn't just releasing a film-he's launching a phenomenon. And at the center of this bold cinematic shift is Manu Singh, a name poised to become unforgettable.

Born and raised in a modest middle-class family in Delhi, Manu Singh's journey into cinema was neither charted nor guaranteed. "I used to mimic teachers, observe body language, feel things deeply even as a kid. Without realizing it, I was preparing."

That instinctive preparation transformed into passion over time-first on a childhood stage where he played Shivaji Maharaj and ad-libbed his way into an eruption of applause, then in 8th grade as Hema Malini in a school play where he won Best Actor for his fully committed, dupatta-draped performance.

But dreams are rarely smooth. Manu's path was paved with rejection, struggle, and silence. "I've faced months of nothingness. No calls. No auditions. No money," he shares with quiet honesty.
That persistence paid off-but in the most unexpected way. A failed audition with a fake moustache nearly ended his day, until a friend suggested one more try.

What followed was a series of intense callbacks and a fateful meeting with Piyush. "He saw something deeper." Where others saw a shaky audition, Piyush Dinesh Gupta saw grit, honesty, and uncut potential. "Manu didn't need grooming. He needed a chance," he says. "He wasn't performing-he was living. That's rare."

And so, Manu landed the lead in Interrogation-opposite industry legends Rajpal Yadav and Yashpal Sharma. His role as Vishal Parashar, a man caught in a storm of guilt and moral conflict, demanded not just emotional range but psychological depth. Manu dove in. "I went to police stations, sat in on real interrogations, observed court proceedings. I fasted, took long night walks, kept myself in emotional solitude during shoots."

Produced by Piyush Dinesh Gupta's production house Naam Mein Kya Rakha Hai and Kunwar Pragy Arya & Inderveer's production house Aryan Brothers, the film has been directed by Ajoy Verma Raja. Interrogation was shot in the hauntingly beautiful landscape of Ladakh.

Piyush's decision to center the film around a complete newcomer speaks volumes about his vision-not for gimmicks, but for raw storytelling and authentic performances. "New talent brings new energy," Piyush Dinesh Gupta says. "And Manu brought everything-truth, hunger, soul."

As the industry awaits the film's premiere on Zee5 on May 30th, 2025, all eyes are on Manu Singh-not because he's arrived with noise, but because he arrives with truth.

"I owe everything to Piyush sir," Manu says with heartfelt gratitude. "He didn't just give me a role-he believed in me when no one else did. That kind of belief is rare, and I'm forever grateful for it."
