Kajal Aggarwal Opens Up On Leading JioHotstar's Vishakha, Shares Heartfelt Note

Actress Kajal Aggarwal-one of South India's most beloved stars- is set for a powerful comeback as she takes on the lead role in Vishakha, the official Telugu adaptation of the hit Hindi web series Aarya. The announcement was made at JioHotstar South Unbound, where the platform unveiled a slate of 25+ new titles spanning fiction, movies, non-fiction, and more.
Though Kajal could not attend the event in person, she shared an exclusive, heartfelt note expressing both her excitement for the project and her deep connection with the South film fraternity. "The South industry didn't just give me work, it gave me a home. What has stayed constant is the honesty and emotion in its stories. It's wonderful to see JioHotstar creating a space where stories come first and where authenticity, talent, and creativity are truly celebrated," she said.
In Vishakha, Kajal steps into a role that demands intensity, emotional depth and transformation, portraying a woman who evolves into a fierce, tigress-like protector for her children. The makers described her character as someone who, when pushed to the edge, discovers an inner strength that propels her into a complex world of crime, loyalty and survival.
The actress, known for her versatility across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada cinema, is expected to bring her signature grace and strong screen presence into this adaptation, much like the critically acclaimed performance by Sushmita Sen in the original.
