Kayoze Irani’s Heart-warming Revelation On Directing Sarzameen Will Resonate With Everyone

Sarzameen ki Salamati se badh kar, Vijay Menon k liye kuch bhi nahi. Releasing on July 25 on JioHotstar, Sarzameen stars Prithviraj Sukumaran as Vijay Menon - a man torn between a father's love and a soldier's duty, Kajol as Meher - a mother who fights against all olds to keep her family intact, and Ibrahim Ali Khan as Harman - a vulnerable young man caught at crossroads. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Kayoze Irani and is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions. At its heart, Sarzameen is a powerful tribute to the spirit of the nation, exploring themes of sacrifice, fractured loyalties, and the emotional weight of choosing between blood ties and a higher calling. The trio brings to life a family that is torn apart by the secrets of the past. The film will be available on JioHotstar in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
For Kayoze Irani, Sarzameen wasn't just a film, it was a personal transformation. What began as a compelling script and a gut-driven decision soon became a life-altering experience, both professionally and emotionally. He emerged from the process more attuned to his emotions, more connected to his family, and unexpectedly, more loving. Sarzameen changes the trajectory of his career; it has already left an indelible mark on his soul.
Elaborating on the same, Kayoze Irani said, "Sarzameen will always mark a turning point in my life, there's a 'before Sarzameen' and an 'after Sarzameen' for me. It has changed me deeply, especially as a person. I'm more emotional now, closer to my family, and I think I've become more loving even if the people around me might not admit it! I told my mother the other day."
He added, "My worst day on Sarzameen was still better than any other day of my life.' Sure, there were moments when I complained about the weather, the pressure, the chaos, but I genuinely loved every single day, even the hard ones. This experience may or may not change my career, but I know it's changed my life. And through it all, I found myself constantly thinking of my future child, boy or girl, and that thought guided so much of what I poured into this film."
