Khoj EXCLUSIVE! Sharib Hasmi On His First Web Series As Lead, Working With Anupriya Goenka & More

Khoj OTT Release Date: There are multiple reasons why industry folks call Sharib Hashmi a chameleon. Well, he can play a plethora of roles with ease and perfection, justifying the moniker given to him. The Family Man actor is gearing up for the release of his first web series as a lead- Khoj - Parchaiyon Ke Uss Paar. ZEE5's newest property promises to take the viewers on a roller coaster ride filled with drama, thrill, suspense, and emotions.

Ahead of the premiere of Khoj - Parchaiyon Ke Uss Paar, Sharib exclusively interacted with Filmibeat and spilled the beans on his character, leading the charge for the first time in a web series and working with such talented co-stars.

Here are excerpts from the interview-

This is your first web series as a lead. Why did you pick this series and this character?

Yes, this is my first series as a lead. I've done movies before, like Filmistaan, Darbaan, Phullu Phullu, and a few more, but as a lead, this is my first series, and I'm very excited about it. I chose Khoj because, when I first heard the story, it really intrigued me. As an audience, I loved my character-it's something I haven't done before. It's a very intense and layered role. On the very first day the makers approached me, I immediately said yes."

How was your experience working with Anupriya Goenka and Aamir Dalvi? Was this your first time working with them? Tell us something about them that may not be popular knowledge.

I had a great time working with Anupriya Goenka and Aamir Dalvi. I already knew Anupriya-she's a great co-actor, and we had an amazing time during the shoot of Khoj. I met Aamir for the first time while making Khoj and found a wonderful friend in him. He's an amazing actor, and I had seen his work before-I was hugely impressed by his performance. When I saw him on the first day of our reading and learned he was playing the cop's role, I was very happy because I knew he would nail it. Once the shoot began, we had so much fun. Aamir is an incredible guy, and with Anupriya already being a friend, we got to spend more time together and really enjoyed ourselves. I hope I get to work with both of them again. I don't know any of their secrets that others don't, but now that we've become friends, I'm sure we'll spend more time together. "

Khoj is a psychological thriller with many twists and turns. How do you as an actor make sure that the overall story is pacey, engaging and believable? While shooting for individual scenes, are you able to look at the larger picture?

This question should be directed to the creator of the show because it's their job to make the story pacey, engaging, and believable. Our job is to approach the work given to us with honesty. When it comes to individual scenes, we need to consider the larger picture. We can't just focus on one scene without understanding what happens right before it and what follows after it. Without that context, the scene won't have the desired impact. So, we always keep the bigger story in mind, and only then do we perform. I believe this applies to every actor."
