The movie talks about the aspirations of a trained dancer, played by Sanya Malhotra, who gets married and struggles between fulfilling her passion and household duties. The film tells the tale of her finding voice and expressing herself as she faces societal expectations and norms on a daily basis. Earlier talking about her role, Sanya said to Bollywood Hungama, "As an actor, I could not have asked for a better character than I would essay in The Great Indian Kitchen. I am more than excited to start working on my role because there are so many layers and nuances to it. I am looking forward to working with Harman and Arati."
