Oscars 2025: The 97th Academy Awards have already announced the shortlisted films and to everyone's surprise, Kiran Rao's Laapataa Ladies has missed out to be enlisted in the Best Foreign Feature Film Category upon which many people had high hopes for. However, there is still a ray of hope for the Hindi film lovers, as Santosh, a Hindi film from United Kingdom, has made it to the race and has been shortlisted in the 'Best International Feature Film' category.

The plot of the story revolves around a widowed woman, Santosh, played by Shahana Goswami, who takes the job of her deceased husband and becomes a police officer. However, things take ugly turn when she gets herself involved in the investigation of the murder of a lower-caste girl.

The film also stars Sunita Rajwar in a pivotal role. For the unversed, the film had a global premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
