Power Of Paanch Star Anubha Arora Talks About Her Role: It Was An Opportunity To Explore A Character In…

Actress Anubha Arora is currently seen in Power Of Paanch as an antagonist. Sharing her experience of working on the series, she says, "When I auditioned for it, I had no idea that it was under the banner of Balaji Telefilms. But I instantly felt I could really ace this character. As things moved forward, I learned more about the show and the character, and then it was a no-brainer. I immediately signed up for it."
Before this, Anubha was part of Nishedh and Yudhra, where she played completely different roles.
Sharing more about Adeeba in Power Of Paanch, Anubha says, "Adeeba has a quintessential look. She is always seen in ribbons and different hairstyles, which I would search for and brainstorm with the creative team for each scene. She has a very quirky way of speaking and comes across as a girl who means no harm. But as the show progresses, viewers will see her personality unfold and realize that, inherently, she lacks self-esteem. To hold on to her confidence and reputation, she will go to any length. That also justifies the way she carries herself on campus."
Season 1 of Power of Paanch consists of 50 episodes, which is quite a long format. On this, Anubha says, "I had never worked on such a long project. It has a lot of episodes and therefore requires a huge commitment. It was also an opportunity to explore a character in depth and make a place in the audience's heart. From the day we started shooting for this project, I've only heard praises from my supportive co-actors, creators, directors, and now the audience. Some people hate my character, which means I've made it that believable. Many fans are sending me messages praising my work. It's overwhelming and incredibly motivating."
The shooting for this series took place in Mumbai, with a brief schedule in Surat. Anubha and the cast had a great time filming. She adds, "I had a great time with all my co-actors, from the younger lot to the parents on the show. We became a family, which is what happens when you work on a long-format project like this. We would break into dance the moment our director played some music on set, we played pranks on each other, we went to set together, had lunch together, and cried together. I made such great memories on this set, which I will cherish forever."
In the last few years, OTT platforms have boomed, providing actors with numerous opportunities. Sharing her thoughts on this, Anubha says, "OTT platforms have opened up a huge space for actors of different calibers, as well as budding producers and directors. Power Of Paanch is one of the first web shows to have so many episodes, keeping audiences hooked, and I think the format is working extremely well. It's week four, and we are still trending. I believe more such formats should be explored as they provide an immersive experience for both creators and audiences."
Speaking about her current career focus, she says, "My only mantra right now is to explore every kind of character. People often hesitate to sign up for grey characters, but I never had that thought process because grey characters are so much more fun to explore and play. They have so many layers. At the same time, I would love to play a protagonist with a romanticized life, like I did in Nishedh. I just want to keep exploring myself as an actor."
