What Is Satluj About?

For the uninitiated, Satluj, starring Diljit, Arjun Rampal and Suvinder Vicky, is a biopic on Jaswant Singh Khalra who had investigated the state-sanctioned extrajudicial killings in 1990s Punjab which involved the illegal killings and cremation of over 25000 people by Punjab police. To note, Khalra was allegedly abducted by Punjab police personnel from his residence in September 1995. Later, six Punjab police officials were sentenced to life imprisonment for his alleged abduction and murder.
