Satluj Banned: Honey Trehan Reacts To Removal Of Diljit Starrer; Says ‘Tera Bhana Meetha Laage’
Satluj Banned: In what came as one of the shocking development, Diljit Dosanjh starrer Satluj, which was earlier named as Punjab 95, was removed from OTT platform Zee5 within 48 hours of its release. Directed by Honey Trehan, Satluj witnessed a guerrilla release on Zee5 on July 3 after fighting the CBFC certification battle for three years. While Satluj managed to create a massive buzz in the town soon after its release, it sudden ban in India has got everyone brimming with an opinion. For the uninitiated, apart from Diljit, Satluj also features Arjun Rampal, Suvinder Vicky, Kanwaljit Singh etc in the lead.

Those who are unaware, Satluj is based on the life of Sikh human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra who hogged the limelight after he raised his voice against the state sanctioned extra judicial killings in Punjab by the police and the illegal cremation of over 25 thousand people. CBFC had demanded 127 cuts in the movie initially, however, the movie was recently released online without any cuts. Soon, Diljit's performance as Jaswant Singh Khalra became the talking point in the town and the movie had left everyone discussing about Punjab and Jaswant Singh Khalra. Honey Trehan Reacts To Satluj Ban In India
The news was shared by Zee5 in a note which read as, "In light of the current developments, Satluj will be unavailable in India until further notice. We remain committed to exploring every appropriate avenue through due process to bring the film back to our audiences at the earliest". Soon, Honey Trehan reacted to the heartbreaking news. He reshared the note on his Instagram story and captioned it as "Tera bhana meetha laage". To note, this quote is from Guru Granth Sahib Ji which means complete acceptance of God's will even in immense suffering.
Earlier, Diljit had also shared his views on Satluj getting banned in India and stated, "It is not a shock to me. I knew it would happen since the film came out. I thought Satluj would be removed once offices open on Monday. However, I didn't expect it will happen on Sunday itself. All this has been going on since day one, that's why we couldn't even promote the film. But, I am glad that the film has reached many households. I wanted our hard work to reach the audience. I am thankful to God about that. Congratulations to our team, we achieved what we wanted to. It's your film, you watch it however you want".
