Shriya Pilgaonkar About Her Parents Sachin, Supriya Pilgaonkar In A Conversation On Be A Parent Yaar 2 Ep 6

In the sixth episode of Vi Presents, "Be a Parent, Yaar! Season 2" by Yuvaa, actress and filmmaker Shriya Pilgaonkar sat down with her father, veteran actor Sachin Pilgaonkar.
Following the success of Nikhil Taneja's "Be A Man, Yaar!", the sixth episode of Vi Presents, "Be A Parent, Yaar!" by Yuvaa is all set to offer viewers a unique glimpse with a candid and raw conversation between Shriya Pilgaonkar and her father Sachin Pilgaonkar offering an unprecedented glimpse into their personal experiences, professional journeys, and a warm and affectionate bond shared by the father-daughter.
The chat show began with a nostalgic discussion where Sachin talked about one of his favourite childhood memories of Shriya where he mentioned about One afternoon, when Shriya was just two years old, laying in bed as Sachin returned home exhausted. Their eyes met for a moment, and Shriya sweetly asked him in Marathi, "Thaklāsa?" meaning "Are you tired?" She then offered her tiny arm as a pillow, and as he rested his head, she gently patted him like a mother comforting her child. As the episode continued it depicted a strong demonstration of their evolving relationship - a bond that transcends traditional father-daughter dynamics with unconditional love and respect. Their conversation was not just a personal narrative but also about broader perspectives on personal growth, sharing responsibilities and much more.
As they exchanged thoughts, Sachin opened up about his struggles on losing his father at an early age due to heart attack, giving him a sense of responsibility, he naturally stepped into the role of decision-maker as the eldest son, to take up the family's duties. He also revealed that while his father was in hospital there was no doctor to look after him, Sachin ran around seeking help but instead of assisting him, the nurses were more surprised by his presence. This made him feel sad about being an actor that day, feeling helpless and not able to do anything on his part.
Shriya also opened up about her views on the parenting that she received from her parents Sachin and Surpiya Pilgaonkar, both of whom are actors and worked constantly during her early years due to their demanding careers and if that made Shriya feel they are not taking proper care of her saying, "Never, In fact, there was a phase when Aai wanted to willingly take a break because she was with me for my swimming classes and was always there, but even you papa. I never felt like you guys were not around, I don't know how but you guys balanced it all really beautifully. I really do feel blessed that for any child I think it's so important to feel that security of their parents and that love which I got from you guys maybe because you guys were also young parents because I feel we three grew up together."
Further into their conversation, Shriya talked about the role of mental health struggles in the age of excessive social media where she mentioned that she gets really overprotective as the only child of her parents sometimes which Sachin does not like as he thinks that feeling bad about trolling is fine but not to take so much to the heart, giving it undue importance.
Answering Sachin's question about whether he had done a good job as a father, Shriya expressed, "Oh god, you've done excellently as a dad because you've done excellently as a human being. It's very different to be told something and it's very different when as a child you experience something through action and I think the most important thing you've done for me is the way you live your life. The passion you have when you're in front of the camera is the same passion when you're having breakfast because everything that you do, it's with equal love and passion. I can only hope to be this sort of parent to my child which is a combination of Aai and you both "
Wrapping up their heartwarming chat, Sachin described his experience of the conversation saying, "Very happy with this mainly because rather I have gotten an opportunity to open up in front of my daughter, not that we don't get a chance to speak to each other but we have more fun and less talk when we are together." Whereas Shriya was truly grateful for the experience saying, " The reason why I was really looking forward to doing this is because if we were at home there would've been distractions and I think it's so nice to just chat quietly."
