When asked about the potential reason behind the delay in the release of Special OPs 2, a reliable industry source exclusively told Filmibeat, "JioHotstar postponed the premiere of Special OPS season 2 due to some internal reasons that have not been specified. The network decided to delay the release by a week as it didn't wish to clash with new film releases like Maalik and Aankhon Ki Gustakiyaan. While Aap Jaisa Koi is releasing on Netflix on the same date, Special OPS 2 will get a special solo release on JioHotstar next week."

We contacted JioHotstar's team for a comment on the same, but didn't get any response till the time of filing the report.

HOW MANY EPISODES ARE THERE IN SPECIAL OPS 2? FIRST EPISODE TO RELEASE ON

Neeraj Pandey, in an exclusive interview with Filmibeat, revealed the reason why Special OPS 2 got delayed. He also shared the number of episodes in the second season.

The Special 26 director said, "Special OPS season 2 will feature a total of seven episodes that will be loaded with entertainment. The episodes are edgier, bolder and entertaining in the new season. Special OPS 2 was slated to premiere early; however, the network delayed it due to IPL 2025. As JioHotstar wanted to release the season at the right time, we waited for some time."

Contrary to the rumours, the show is not releasing early. It will premiere on July 18 at 12am.
