Sumukhi Suresh Performs At ‘Netflix Is A Joke Fest 2026’ As The Only Indian Female Comic In This Year’s Lineup

Mumbai, May 20, 2026: Netflix spotlighted Indian comedy on the global stage as stand-up comedian, actor and writer Sumukhi Suresh performed at the prestigious Netflix Is A Joke Fest 2026, becoming the only Indian female comic featured in this year's lineup.

Organised by Netflix, the globally celebrated comedy festival brought together some of the biggest names in stand-up and entertainment, with Sumukhi sharing the lineup alongside comedians including Zainab Johnson, Molly Kearney, Liza Treyger, Aurie Styla, Michael Longfellow, Chris Redd, and filmmaker-comedian Kevin Smith among others.

Widely recognised as North America's largest comedy festival, Netflix Is A Joke Fest has rapidly evolved into one of the most influential global comedy platforms since its launch in 2022. Held across iconic venues in Los Angeles, the biennial festival celebrates the best of contemporary comedy through live stand-up performances, podcasts, sketches, fan experiences, and special events curated by Netflix.

As a comedian, it's one of the biggest stages you can hope to perform on, and for this to also be my first-ever show in the United States made it even more special. What stayed with me the most was the warmth of the audience in Los Angeles, it felt less like a performance and more like a genuine conversation. The crowd came in ready to laugh, connect, and have fun, and that energy made the entire experience unforgettable. Over the years, Sumukhi Suresh has carved a distinctive space in entertainment through her sharp observational humour and storytelling across stand-up, film, and series. Expanding her creative association with Netflix, she was recently seen in the romantic comedy series The Royals and also penned the dialogues for the thriller film CTRL.
