The Mehta Boys is the story of a father and son, who struggle to make a bond after a long time. Amay, a young architect, played by Avinash Tiwary, struggles in life after his mother passes away. Now, due to unavoidable circumstances, he has to spend 48 hours with his father, played by Boman Irani, whom he can't stand. Now, in that process, the duo reveals their hidden emotions which will heal their relationship after a prolonged period.

Boman Irani turned director and writer for the film, he has co-written the film with Oscar-winning screen writer Alexander Dinelaris. The movie also stars Shreya Chaudhry and Puja Sarup alongside Boman Irani and Avinash Tiwary. Talking about playing the role of Amay, Avinash revealed, "The moment I read it, I knew that if I truly considered myself an artist, there was no way I could let go of this script-I had to be a part of this film.I wasn't sure how it would unfold until I met Boman Sir. He asked me to read a scene, and that's when something magical happened. He stood up, I stood up, and before I knew it, he was giving me instructions, and I was responding instinctively.
