Web Series 2025: Is Priyanka Chaurasia's New Web Show Releasing After Government Ban?

Web series 2025: OTT platforms have gained a significant fan following after the COVID-19 lockdown. While they offer quality content, a few streaming platforms showcased obscene content, facing flak from the audience.
The Central government took timely action and banned platforms that promoted vulgar content. The matter came into the light when Ullu App's House Arrest trended on social media for its objectionable content. The host Ajaz Khan asked a female contestant to demonstrate a s*x position in the show. This caught the ire of the netizens, who demanded stringent action against the host and the makers.
"The Ministry of Broadcasting and Information decided to ban 20 OTT platforms for objectionable and obscene content. OTT platforms like Ullu received flak for promoting vulgarity in society with obscene scenes in their web series. After the ban, Ullu app has removed all its content from its official website and deleted all the posts from Instagram. The makers have remained underground amid the legal restrictions following the ban," an industry source earlier told Filmibeat.
"The web series like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Happy Ending, Tu Dekh Meri Photo that have released online on Ullu and other such platforms have pulled from the website and app. A few of them are available on Dailymotion, but they will also be removed from the video-sharing platform. The web series featuring Natasha Rajeshwari, Malvika Tomar and other actresses that have not premiered yet will continue to remain unreleased," the source added.
When asked about Priyanka Chaurasia's new web series premiering online after the MIB ban, the khabri quipped, "Things have changed following the ban and the makers are now worried about the release of their already shot projects. Ullu App has scrapped all the shows as the government is strict with the ban, and doesn't want to promote obscene content."
"Priyanka Chaurasia has not signed any exclusive contract with any leading OTT platform. While her shows will definitely not release on streaming platforms that have faced the ban, she is currently working on a few projects. It's too early to comment on the same," another reliable industry source told Filmibeat.
