While streaming giants like ZEE5, Netflix, Prime Video, SonyLIV and JioHotstar continued to grab eyeballs with their interesting projects, a few OTT platforms faced flak for their objectionable content.

The Central government banned a few OTT platforms for showcasing vulgar content. The matter gained media attention when a clip from House Arrest went viral on social media.

The host, Ajaz Khan, asked a female contestant to demonstrate a s*xual position with another male contestant on the show. This irked the audience, who demanded stringent action against Ullu. The app was banned after the government initiated quick action.

"The Ministry of Broadcasting and Information decided to ban 20 OTT platforms for objectionable and obscene content. OTT platforms like Ullu received flak for promoting vulgarity in society with obscene scenes in their web series. After the ban, Ullu app has removed all its content from its official website and deleted all the posts from Instagram. The makers have remained underground amid the legal restrictions following the ban," a reliable industry source earlier told Filmibeat.

Fans have been wondering if Manvi Chugh's upcoming projects will get stalled following the ban. "The actress is in talks for a couple of projects, but nothing is finalised as of now. She is expected to make an official announcement about her web series in 2026 at the right time. The government ban on certain OTT platforms has led to changes in the industry," our khabri earlier told us.

And now, we are back with yet another update. Manvi Chugh, who has worked in shows like Joru Ka Gulam and Main Yahan Tu Wahan, has signed a new project.

"Manvi has bagged a new OTT show, where she will be seen in a new avatar. The details have been kept under wraps as the shooting is yet to start," the source told Filmibeat.
