Here are excerpts from the interview.

1- You ruled the roost in 2025 on OTT with Salakaar and Search: The Naina Murder Case. And now, you are slaying it with Undekhi season 4. Are you elated with the response?

Yes, the response is good, and I am still waiting for the audience to finish the show. So that the audience will give a proper response after watching the show.

It's more exciting for them and it's really nice that such a question is being asked. It is very motivating for me, and I hope that I will rule the OTT space in 2026.

2- What is that one thing that you keep in mind while selecting the characters?

There are many films, actually. I feel series like Breaking Bad and Narcos and then there are so many series.

All the characters are so good, and I don't know if I won't be able to ask them. I will have to ask you. Have you seen Baby Reindeer? So the characters in that are so twisted, and so many different types of characters have been written.

But then again, it's a strong story with strong characters, strong performances. So all these characters attract me a lot and I enjoy picking characters from such a strong storyline.

3- Undekhi: The Final Battle has taken us on a roller coaster ride loaded with thrill, drama, suspense and twists. The first two episodes have proved that Rinku will never back down without a fight. How do you keep things interesting as an actor? Rinku is indeed the most dangerous and yet most intriguing person in the room.

I mean, this question itself has given the answer, but it is sure Rinku is the most dangerous person in the room, and I can tell you a few stories to complete the answer.

I went to a wedding in Chandigarh. I saw groups of young boys, they were just staring at me. So they were just looking at me, and then someone came to me with a lot of courage and asked me something. "I said yes, go ahead. He said, can I talk to you for two minutes? I was hesitating a lot. I said yes, go ahead."

Then they wanted a picture and they were just looking at me as if they would fight with me or do something. I felt twice that I shouldn't be there. But I have got this from Rinku's character that any person who is a fan of Rinku looks at me and thinks whether he is really that angry or he will really take out the gun.

4- The element of the human trafficking case has added a new layer. How was your reaction when you read the script for the new season?

My reaction was good. It's interesting because again, there was no element in the story that you believe now. After all, it's happening.

It's happening in our society and there are so many cases. It happened recently in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

This is all human trafficking. By adding this element in our story, we are just trying to show that it's still going on. I still remember when we were doing the workshops, there was a lot of discussion about how loud we can show human trafficking because there's no end to it.

We can show the maximum, and we can show the very minimum also. But I think Aashiq sir has done a great job by showing the beach average. It's been shown nicely.

It's not very edgy but it's happening and it's happening in Manali. It's a new element, and it's very interesting for people to watch and see.

5- Such a star-studded cast- Harsh sir, Varun sir, you, Gautam Rode, the list is countless- How is it shooting with stalwarts? How is the experience?

With Harsh sir, my experience is very old and I enjoy shooting with him. He's very dedicated to his work, especially when it comes to Papaji. Because he gives so much. And when he's in front of the camera, he's often off-set in the same way that he's in Papaji's character, which is very good as an actor and the way he modulates the dialogue, his voice, all those things are very interesting to learn from him.

And if I'll come to other actors, especially Debu (Dibyendu Bhattacharya) sir. Debu sir is also sharing a lot and I've learned a lot from him, especially the rawness and improvisations and how to make the scene very flowy and very easy.

So yeah, I learned a lot from Debu sir. Gautam Rode was there and again, he's very easy to work with. So all of them, they are very nice.

6- Now, when you reflect on your journey as an actor, how do you feel? The boy from Himachal with big dreams is ticking off things from his bucket list, isn't he?

If I talk about my journey, I think I'm still at 40%. I have to reach 90-95%. I see it as a ladder. There are 10 steps in the ladder, so I think I'm on the fourth or fifth. So there's another ladder, I have to complete it.

When I complete it, I'll have a new bucket list. It's just like life. When you start something, you don't have so many things at that time, so you feel that this is also there, that is also there.

Then you get all that. After that, you feel that you need that too, you need this too. So all these things, I relate a lot to life and work.

Undekhi season 4 is available for streaming on SonyLIV.
