Undekhi Season 4 Finale Twist: Gautam Rode On Playing Vikram Saluja: He Is Complex And... (EXCLUSIVE)
Undekhi season 4 twist: SonyLIV promised to take the viewers on a roller coaster ride loaded with thrill, excitement and suspense with Undekhi 4, and the OTT platform didn't disappoint us. The fourth season took things a notch higher, and we are already gushing over Gautam Rode.
As Undekhi season 4 moves forward towards its finale, we got in touch with Gautam Rode to know about the upcoming twists and his take on his character. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Gautam spilled the beans on playing Vikram Saluja and why he gave his approval instantly.
Here are excerpts from the interview-
Q- You're back with a bang. You have surprised the audience with your performance and different look. Are you satisfied with your act in Undekhi 4?
Thank you so much, it's really nice playing different characters. It is a different zone for me in a way, because it's an exciting time to play different roles. After all, I'm getting to play a lot of different characters right now in a short span of time, so that becomes very interesting for an actor to perform and to o learn also at the same time. I'm also learning more about the characters that I'm doing and learning from varied projects.
Q- So, what is the one thing that you always keep in mind while selecting the roles?
It depends on what kind of project it is, so first, I need to kind of look at the project, whether it is viable enough. Sometimes, what happens is your character is really nice, but the project isn't, so that becomes a challenge.
I should believe in the project and know that this will leave an impact on the audience. The character that they are offering me, as in I kind of always in terms of my television career also, I try to pick up as many different roles as much as possible, for me in OTT also it's the same thing.
Whether it's Undekhi 4, Maamla Legal Hai season 2 or Storm on Prime, my characters offer me a satisfying experience. All these characters, in terms of their looks, their mannerisms, how the character graph is, are completely different than one another, so that becomes very interesting for me as an actor.
Q- Undekhi is a jewel on SonyLIV's crown. Were you apprehensive about the fact that you would be joining a well-established show?
No, as an actor, you won't think that much, as it's just one more work for me. I really liked the first season of Undekhi. I enjoyed watching it. When I got the script for my character, I read it, and was convinced that 'this is something I want to take up.'
I've never played a character like Vikram Saluja before in terms of my acting career. So it is very complex and layered, this particular character. This also excited me as I've never done anything like that before in my acting career. This really pushed me towards this particular show.
