Yajat Dhingra Exclusive Interview On Ek Farzi Love Story: From content creation to making his OTT debut, it was a thrilling ride for the social media sensation Yajat Dhingra. The young actor, who has entered to the OTT world as 'Naman' in the Amazon MX Player romantic-drama 'Ek Farzi Love Story', is one of the chilled out and easy people to have a conversation with.

In an exclusive tete-a-tete with Filmibeat, Yajat spilled beans about his off-screen bond with his 'Ek Farzi Love Story' co-stars, his OTT debut, journey and more.

Here are excerpts from the interview:

1) From starting off your career as a marketeer then entering to the world of social media and now making acting debut... Tell us about your journey?

I am pretty sure I knew I always wanted to do this because during my school days I used to write theatre plays and I would cast myself in those plays. Then during my 11th and 12th standard, I was doing theatre. I am from Ambala and it's a city close to Chandigarh where we have a very famous theatre called 'Tagore Theatre' and I have performed there. Then I went to Canada but I didn't really know to do with my life. I had my maternal family to fall back on and I also wanted to explore which is why I went there. And Covid-19 hit and I was in my uncle's basement doing nothing. That was the time I started making reels, videos on Instagram. In the next 2-3 years, my Instagram eventually grew a little bit and I started getting collabs. At that time, I was doing well in my job and on Instagram so I thought of pursuing my passion as well. After 4-5 years, I came back to India and one of the major reasons for my return was my parents. In addition to that, I wanted to pursue acting and content creation.

2) How did 'Ek Farzi Love Story' happen and what was the experience like? Tell us about your off-screen bonds with your co-actors.

I did one acting workshop by Parag Mehta and there I met Aarambhh Singh (director of Ek Farzi Love Story). I took all of his criticism and appreciations and made a point to stay at the top of his head. After a couple of months, he called me up and offered this role.

I have not met Reem a lot but she is very sweet to talk to and she is very mature than her age. Anshuman and Mohit are very close to my heart. I still meet them and talk to them 2-3 times a week. I got to learn so much from them.

3) According to you, which one is more difficult to do - acting or content creation?

Difficult toh kuch bhi nahi hai... I think what difficult is the setbacks you get like agar acting kar rha hu toh koi project nahi mil raha aur agar content creation kar raha hu toh likes nahi aa rahe, followers nahi bad rahe hai. But I think once you surpass that nothing is difficult.

4) Have you ever experienced any 'farzi' love story in real life?

My first relationship was a farzi love story. It was real from my side me but I think it was 'farzi' from the other person.

5) There is a lot of conversation about content creators/influencers taking over acting jobs and replacing actors. What's your take on this?

I feel sabhi actors hai because content creators are also acting. Either they are acting in front of the camera for reels/videos or on silver screens. In my case, I started content creation because I wanted to become an actor. For me, it's always about the craft.

6) What else is coming from you in near future?

I am doing another project that I cannot really talk about but that's gonna be out this year, hopefully.
