As the celebration continues, Shreya Ghoshal’s father, Bishwajit Ghoshal, shares a fascinating backstory about ‘Yeh Ishq Hai’. “This song was made many years ago. When the rough scratch of the song was given to her, we played the song. There was a small kid who was our neighbour who would dance whenever this song played—that’s when we declared that this song would be a hit, and it even won a National Award.” He further reveals, “The song was sung in a totally different way. She has not sung any song in her lifetime like this. That was the unique part of the song. Someone probably noticed that and decided to give her a National Award.”
