SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated film Varanasi is officially heading to the international stage. As confirmed by the makers via social media, the film will make its global debut at CCXP Mexico 2026, one of Latin America’s biggest pop culture events, marking a major milestone for the project.
The film will be showcased on April 24 at the Thunder Stage by Cinemex, with a dedicated panel presented by producer SS Karthikeya. The session, titled ‘Varanasi to the World’, is expected to offer fans an early glimpse into the film’s scale and vision.
A key highlight of the presentation will be the unveiling of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage, specially curated for the event. In addition, audiences will also witness a video message from SS Rajamouli, adding a personal touch to the global reveal.
Headlined by Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Varanasi has already generated massive buzz. Early looks of the lead characters–Mahesh as Rudhra, Priyanka as Mandakini, and Prithviraj as Kumbha–have gone viral, fueling anticipation among fans worldwide.
Even before its official debut, Varanasi has made waves internationally. As reported in industry coverage, its early glimpse at a trailer festival in Paris received an electrifying response, with audiences applauding its scale and cinematic ambition.

Known for redefining Indian cinema with Baahubali and RRR, Rajamouli is reportedly mounting Varanasi on a massive scale, with industry reports suggesting a budget of around ₹1,200 crore. The film is also being planned for IMAX release, highlighting its larger-than-life storytelling approach.
With its CCXP debut, Varanasi is expected to intensify its global marketing push. More teasers, casting updates, and promotional events are likely in the coming months as the film gears up for its tentative April 2027 release.
