Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, known as Dhanush, was born on 28 July 1983 in Madras, Tamil Nadu to a Tamil film director and producer, Kasthuri Raja, and mother, Vijayalakshmi. Dhanush is an Indian actor, producer, director, lyricist, and playback singer who works in Tamil cinema. Has done 46+ films over his career and won four National Film Awards, 14 SIIMA Awards, seven Filmfare Awards South, five Vikatan Awards, five Edison Awards, a Filmfare Award, and nine Vijay Awards.
Dhanush's first film was Thulluvadho Ilamai in the year 2002 directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja. In 2011, Dhanush's popular song 'Why This Kolaveri Di' from the romantic thriller film 3 (three) became the first Indian music video to cross 100 million views on YouTube. Dhanush made his Bollywood debut with Aanand L. Rai's film Raanjhanaa (2013). Dhanush married Aishwarya on 18 November 2004 to the eldest daughter of the actor Rajinikanth on 18 November 2004. They have two sons, Yatra and Linga, The couple officially announced their separation on 17 January 2022.
