53rd Kerala State Film Awards: Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam Takes Best Film; Mammootty, Vincy Aloshious, and Mahesh Narayanan Sweep Top Honours

The Kerala State Film Awards are set to be announced by the Minister for Cultural Affairs, Saji Cheriyan, at the PR Chamber Secretariat on Friday. Originally scheduled for July 19, the awards' announcement was postponed due to the passing of former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Finally, the results are now available, and here is the much-awaited list of awardees.

Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, achieved a significant victory as it was awarded the Best Film among an impressive selection of 154 movies.

Mammootty won the Best Actor award for his exceptional performance in the film Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam.

Vincy Aloshious received the prestigious Best Actress title for her outstanding portrayal in the film Rekha.

Mahesh Narayanan was honored with the title of Best Director for his work in the movie Ariyippu.

Kamal KM was recognized as the Best Writer for his contribution to the film Pada, while Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval received the award for Best Screenplay (Original) for the movie Nna Thaan Case Kodu. Additionally, Rajesh Pinnadan secured the award for Best Screenplay (Adaptation) for the film Oru Thekkan Thallu Case.

Syam Pushkaran was awarded Best Screenplay (adapted) for his exceptional work in the movie Joji.

Renowned actor Revathy achieved her first-ever Kerala Film State Award in the Best Actress category for her captivating and powerful performance in the film Bhoothakaalam.

Following that, Biju Menon (for Aarkkariyam) and Joju George (for Madhuram, Freedom Fight, Thuramukham, and Naayaattu) jointly received the Best Actor award, sharing the honor among themselves.
