Arijit began his music career with the reality TV show ‘Fame Gurukul’ back in 2005, when he was just 18 years old. The show had lyricist Javed Akhtar and singers Shankar Mahadevan and late singer KK as judges. He did not win the show but ended up in the sixth position.

During this reality show, Arijit’s voice caught director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s attention who offered to work with him. He kept his promise and gave Arijit the song ‘Yoon Shabnami’ in Sawariya film but his version did not make it to the film.

He finally made his debut in 2011 as a Bollywood playback singer with Murder 2 song ‘Phir Mohabbat’ starring Emraan Hashmi and Jacquelin Fernandez.

He rose to fame with the love anthem of all time from the film ‘Aashiqui 2’. Composed by Mithoon the song became the go-to song of lovelorn aashiqs. Since then, there has been no looking back for Arijit Singh.

Interestingly, after Kumar Sanu, Arijit is the only Bollywood vocalist to win the Filmfare Award five times in a row from 2016 to 2020.

2019 became one of the highest points in Arijit Singh’s career when he took home the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer for the Padmaavat song ‘Binte Dil.’

Arijit has given several soulful and peppy numbers like ‘Kabira’, ‘Samjhawan’, ‘Gerua’, and his latest addition ‘Deva Deva’.
