According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film "Leo," featuring Vijay in the lead role, was released in theaters on Thursday and has achieved the highest global opening of the year across all Indian film industries. Reportedly, "Leo" earned an impressive Rs 140 crore in worldwide gross on its opening day.

The movie generated Rs 63 crore net in the domestic market, while its gross earnings in India amounted to Rs 74 crore.

In Tamil Nadu which was the primary market for the film, it made Rs. 30 crore gross on the first day.
