The Mollywood Industry faces yet another loss a famous comedy actor Mamukkoya passes at the age of 77. For the unversed, Mamukkoya was an Indian actor primarily recognized for his roles in Malayalam cinema. He additionally appeared in the French film Flammens of Paradise. He is best known for his comic roles. His distinct use of the Mappila dialect and style distinguishes him in the profession. He has appeared in over 450 Malayalam films and is the first State award winner for best comedian in Malayalam cinema.

According to reports, Mamukkoya was in Malappuram to inaugurate the Poongod Janakeeya Sevens Football Tournament when he suddenly collapsed.

The crowd gathered around him to click pictures when he complained of unease and then immediately collapsed on the football ground.

He was then taken and admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode. The doctors informed his family that his case worsened and he was kept on the ventilator.

Reportedly he died due to a brain hemorrhage along with a heart attack.

Mamukkoya’s death is an end of an era. The veteran actor made his name as a comedian with the film Sathyan Anthikad.

Mamukkoya worked in a timber mill in Kozhikode before he started his acting career in 1979.

Sharing the sad news of the actor’s demise trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, "#Mamukkoya (77), one of the finest comedy actors ever in Malayalam cinema passed away. Who can forget this Kozhikode man, the epicenter of laughter in so many films? #RIP”
