Anusheel Chakrabarty Blends Drama And Dance

Mumbai,June 7th - Actor and performer Anusheel Chakrabarty delivered a standout performance at the 31st edition of Shiamak Davar's Summer Funk, held recently at St. Andrew's Auditorium, Bandra West. This marked Anusheel's fourth on stage dance performance and this time he chose to elevate the act by blending expressive dialogue with dynamic choreography.

The evening began with Anusheel captivating the audience through a dramatic monologue that set the stage for a creative battle between retro Bollywood and modern cinema. This witty theatrical setup led into an energetic sequence of dance performances featuring popular tracks such as "Nain Matakka" and "Jooma Chumma," with Anusheel taking center stage as one of the male leads.

It was one of the largest batches to perform and this time, the boys dressed in flashy, eye catching costumes stole the spotlight, outshining the girls with their energy, flair and theatrical presence.

One of the visual highlights of the show was a quirky performance on "Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si, "where boys danced holding gaudy umbrellas adding a splash of humor and color to the retro themed segment.

The act continued with a lively mashup featuring "Tattad Tattad," "Zinda Banda,"the iconic Don (1978) title track and "Akshay Akshay" from Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. The performance was designed as a playful face off between two dance groups, each representing a different era of Bollywood cinema.

The grand event was graced by numerous well known personalities including Ayushmann Khurrana, actress Dia Mirza, veteran actor Puneet Issar, Ruslaan Mumtaz, celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani and several familiar faces from the television industry. The show was hosted by Master Marzi Pestonji, best known for judging reality dance shows like DID (Dance India Dance) and Dance Plus, bringing both excitement and credibility to the event with the legendary Shiamak Davar himself in attendance, cheering on the young talents.

Following his performance, Anusheel expressed heartfelt gratitude to Aneesha Dalal Ma'am , SDIPA National Instructor Head, Principal Dancer, Master Faculty and his instructor from the Khar batch, who provided the dialogues that gave his performance its unique narrative structure.

"What more could an actor ask for?" he remarked." To act and dance live on stage, in front of such celebrated artists, is truly a dream come true."

Anusheel also added with a smile, joining SDIPA (Shiamak Davar Institute For Performing Arts) was probably the best decision I've ever made and all credit goes to my mom, who's supported me every step of the way through these past two years of my dance journey.

His mother Advocate Sheela Chakraborty shared her pride, saying:

SDIPA has given him such a wonderful platform to express himself, to grow and to perform with confidence. Watching him blossom on stage has been incredibly fulfilling.

With his seamless blend of theatre and movement, Anusheel Chakrabarty continues to establish himself as a promising talent in the performing arts leaving both audiences and mentors thoroughly impressed.
