Kanthi Dutt Affirms Samantha Ruth Prabhu Partnered Sustainkart's Spotless Legal Standing

New Delhi [India], February 18: SustainKart was India's largest e-commerce marketplace for ecofriendly products, cofounded by Shilpa Reddy & Kanthi Dutt in 2020. The venture was later joined by Samantha Ruth Prabhu as an investor and has scaled to over 1500 brands on the platform with over 2 Lakh SKUs before shutting down in August 2023.
Former Director of the company, Kanthi Dutt stated in a recent interview with Deccan Chronicle that there are no legal complaints filed against the company or it's founders in any capacity, condemning the spreading false news. He clarified that the founders have decided to shut the business before wasting 10s of millions of dollars in the same of sustainability with utmost respect for investor's money. "I followed a wise man's suggestion: Pull the plug before it's too late (too much of a waste)", Dutt said.
Shilpa Reddy decided to part ways with the firm stating "The business practices did not conform to my ethics and principles", referring to the endless spending of funding until start-ups see the light at the end of the tunnel. "As a founder the one thing I couldn't learn was Pump & Dump", Dutt added. While there were numerous speculations about the start-up winding off, the founders state their clear, honest reasons for deciding to shut the startup operations.
While numerous startup founders have raised humongous funding to expand ventures and later failed, SustainKart's founders have responsibly stepped back due to improper product market fit and client base for sustainability e-commerce. Post which Shilpa Reddy has launched Raising Shakthi Foundation that has caught attention, while Kanthi Dutt's Tritiyaa Fine Jewellery with Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra is gaining customer traction for the unique designs.
