Window Dreams Productions' Short Film "Unibrow" Wins Accolades and Gears Up for New Releases

Window Dreams Productions, founded by Shreya Patel and Rabiya Mansoor, has been making waves in the film industry. The production company recently produced a short film called "Unibrow" for the emerging Iranian-Canadian filmmaker and writer, Nedda Sarshar. The film tells the story of an Iranian-Canadian girl who learns to embrace her unibrow and her Iranian heritage, focusing on the experiences of queer women of color and their immigrant families.
"Unibrow" has already achieved significant recognition, first by winning the Reel Asian Film Festival's "So You Think You Can Pitch?" program and then winning the prestigious Air Canada Short Film or Video Award at the 27th edition of the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. This accolade means that the film will be featured on Air Canada's in-flight entertainment screens on both domestic and international flights, allowing passengers from around the world to experience its compelling story. In addition to the exposure, the award includes a cash prize of $2000. The film also secured the Reel Asian Audience Award-Short, which is determined by the votes of the festival's viewers and comes with a cash prize of $800.
Window Dreams Productions is known for its compelling documentary work, including films like "Girl Up" and "Unity - #LOVESPREADS Faster Than A Virus." The team is now preparing for the release of a new show called "Get Up, Aisha," scheduled to debut on CBC Gem in April 2024.
In another exciting development, the dynamic duo of Patel and Mansoor has been selected to pitch their show, "Layla is Relevant," at the prestigious Content London in the UK. The show, which is currently in development, was chosen as one of the top 12 pitches from 150 submissions and 37 countries, highlighting the talent and creativity of Window Dreams Productions.
With a string of successes and new projects on the horizon, Window Dreams Productions continues to make a significant impact in the world of film and television, bringing diverse and compelling stories to audiences worldwide.
