Anirudh Ravichander Faces Plagiarism Controversy Over Leo's 'Ordinary Person': In the world of Kollywood, Anirudh Ravichander is a renowned music composer, known for his work in blockbuster films.
Anirudh Ravichander, with a slew of eagerly awaited projects, has become a household name in the industry. His musical prowess will soon be showcased in highly anticipated films such as Ajith's 'Vidaa Muyarchi,' Rajinikanth's 'Thalaivar 170' and '171,' Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2,' and several other high-profile productions.
Most recently, Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo,' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featuring Anirudh's music, hit theatres and has been making waves. The soundtrack for the film has been well-received, with all of Anirudh's songs becoming chart-toppers.
However, the music talent recently found himself embroiled in a plagiarism controversy related to the English song "Ordinary Person," which he composed for the film 'Leo.'
Netizens were quick to draw parallels between the track and an album titled 'Where Are You,' composed by Belarusian electronic musician Otnicka. Accusations of song theft led to Otnicka addressing the issue on Instagram, acknowledging the situation's complexity but refraining from making accusations.
He said, "Guys, thanks for your messages about the movie "Leo". I can see everything, but it's physically impossible to answer everyone. The mail is overflowing with messages, Instagram, as well as thousands of comments on YouTube under the video "Where Are You". The situation is very unclear... We are looking into this and a little later I will give an assessment of everything that is happening. But I'm not accusing anyone yet. ! Important ! One of the authors of "Otnicka - Where Are You" is also a composer Artem Mikhaenkin - @mihaenkin Thank you ♥️ #otnicka #whereareyou #leo #ordinaryperson" (sic)
