Leo Overseas Collection: Controversy Brews Over Conflicting Reports Of Thalapathy Vijay Movie

Leo Overseas Box Office Collection: "Leo," the Tamil-language action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring the iconic Thalapathy Vijay, took theatres by storm on October 19. Produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy, the film's Telugu and Hindi-dubbed versions were also released on the same day.
This action movie brings together an ensemble cast featuring Vijay in the titular role, alongside renowned talents such as Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Priya Anand.
Conflicting Reports Cast Doubt on 'Leo's' Overseas Box Office Triumph
According to various film trade trackers, 'Leo' has set a remarkable milestone in its overseas performance, securing the title of the "All-Time Second Best Opening for a South Indian Film." This accolade places "Leo" in an elite league, with its opening weekend overseas collections trailing only behind the monumental success of "Baahubali 2."
However, amidst the celebratory air, conflicting reports have emerged, raising questions about the veracity of these overseas collections. According to the film industry tracker Manobala Vijayabalan, who goes by the handle X, there is a discrepancy in the numbers. Vijayabalan contends that the film "Leo" did not achieve the overseas records attributed to it, refuting claims that it outperformed other major releases like "RRR," "KGF Chapter 2," "2.0," "Jawan," and "Pathaan" during its first weekend abroad.
Adding to the intrigue surrounding "Leo," there were reports that the film had earned a historic spot on the Global Comscore website, establishing it as the first Tamil movie to attain such recognition. Furthermore, it was initially stated that the film had amassed a staggering global box office collection of ₹400 crores, equivalent to $48.5 million, within just four days of its release. However, as discussions heated up on social media, the hashtag #LeoScam began trending on Twitter, with numerous users expressing scepticism about the accuracy of the Box Office reports, including the claimed ₹400 crore global earnings for "Leo." The controversy has left both fans and industry insiders curious and eager for a resolution to the conflicting narratives.
"Leo" has left audiences divided, with starkly contrasting feedback for its first and second halves. While the initial half of the movie received glowing reviews, the latter part seems to have disappointed, resulting in a wave of mixed reactions.
Netizens are now expressing their dissatisfaction with the movie, especially the lacklustre second half. The mixed reviews of the movie have sparked a wide range of discussions and debates.
