'Annapoorani,' in which Jai plays a significant role, was released on December 1 with a limited release across Tamil Nadu. Annapoorani, an aspiring chef, faces a significant challenge. Despite her desire to master various non-vegetarian cuisines, she hails from an Iyengar family with strict vegetarian traditions. Complicating matters further, her father serves as the temple priest, preparing exclusively vegetarian offerings as prasadam. Undeterred by these constraints, Annapoorani tenaciously pursues her dreams. She covertly enrols in a culinary school, defying her family's expectations. Her journey culminates in a bold move-participating in a culinary competition and ultimately realising her ambition of becoming a corporate chef.
