Pulikkuthi Pandi OTT Release: "Pulikkuthi Pandi" is a Tamil action drama television film released in 2021, brought to life by M. Muthaiah, who served as the producer, writer, and director.
The stellar cast includes Lakshmi Menon, Vikram Prabhu, and Singampuli in prominent roles, while Samuthrakani, R.K. Suresh, Vela Ramamoorthy, and Sujatha Sivakumar play pivotal supporting characters.
N. R. Raghunanthan has composed the film's music. The movie was released as a television premiere directly on Sun TV on January 15, 2021, coinciding with the festive occasion of Pongal and also serving as a special celebration for Vikram Prabhu's birthday. Notably, this film marked Lakshmi Menon's return to cinema after a four-year hiatus from acting.
The movie was announced in September 2020, and despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, production commenced in the same month. Sun TV Network undertook the film's production with a constrained budget. Originally, the filmmakers named the project "Pechi" and initiated principal photography, but it was subsequently rebranded as "Pulikkuthi Pandi."
This film endeavour marked the second collaboration between Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon since their work together on "Kumki" in 2012. For Lakshmi Menon, it was her first film project in four years following her appearance in "Rekka" in 2016. The majority of the movie was primarily filmed in Madurai and Dindigul.
The filming of the movie wrapped up in November 2020, coinciding with the reopening of theatres to the public by the Tamil Nadu government for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The first-look poster for the film was revealed on December 30, 2020.
N. R. Raghunanthan composed the film's musical soundtrack and score, comprising six tracks with lyrics penned by Mohan Rajan, Mani Amudhavan, and Araikudi Bharathi Ganesan. The album hit the shelves on January 9, 2021, six days prior to the film's release.

The filmmakers originally intended to release the film on Christmas, December 25, 2020, but had to delay it due to post-production issues. They then announced plans for a theatrical release on January 1, 2021, to coincide with the New Year and be the first Tamil film of the year. However, the theatrical release was cancelled at the last minute due to further post-production delays. Eventually, the film's release was rescheduled as a direct television premiere on Sun TV, set for January 15, 2021, as part of the Pongal celebrations. This made it the second film to premiere directly on Sun TV, following "Naanga Romba Busy" (2020).
"Pulikkuthi Pandi" is now set for release on the digital streaming platform Amazon Prime Video starting from November 10, 2023. Viewers have the option to watch the series in its original Tamil version or choose from dubbed versions available in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, all accessible on Amazon Prime Video.
